Iron Works

Iron WorksIf you are looking for an interesting city to travel, then London fits the bill. It has developed around the river Thames, which in the past was a major route for transporting produce. Nowadays, London has grown into a modern city with a strong heritage.

As the River Thames flows through the city, it was almost inevitable that some incredible iron works would be created. The city thrived on business through the harbour and so hug ships were constructed to carry produce and passengers along the river.

There are however, some far more famous iron works. One of the most famous that’s a huge tourist attraction for the area is the Tower Bridge. This incredible structure dates back to the Victorian era, but still impresses visitors today.

A ‘must see’ feature of the bridge is the centre, which splits and rises out of the way of large riverboats. In recent years, this action has become a popular event and so the are set times for ‘the raising of the bridge’.

Another more recent attraction is the Millennium Bridge. This is far more modern in style, taking on the space age styling of the 21st century. Although modern in style, it is still elegant and comfortable transports visitors to St Paul’s Cathedral. For more information go to ironworkslondon.co.uk.
